We are a team of 4 people pretending to be cyclists who are fundamentally driven by the prospect of raising over £10,000 for the Geoff Thomas Foundation, an amazing charity who focuses on pooling together resources for clinical trials of life saving, leukaemia fighting, drugs. These clinical trials allow for drugs to move from the shelves of laboratories to the bedside tables in hospitals. 2011 is a breakthrough year for the Geoff Thomas Foundation as they have recently teamed up with Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Together they are making serious headway and are closing the gap on the difference in advances between treatments for Blood Cancers and treatments for other Cancers.
In December 2010, 4 guys got together and on a whim they decided they would battle the late August elements of England, France and Italy, possibly even venturing to Switzerland and they would do all this on a bike! With little more hill climbing experience than an under-powered Robin Reliant they knew that tackling the unavoidable Alps would be tough. So much so that one guy pulled out. But before you could say Lance Armstrong another stepped in. Our team for our own, self-organised, London to Milan cycling adventure had been formed!
The team of 4 are: Christian Zaleski, Tom Mcconnell, James Miesner and Nick Poursadigh. As a team we have met with Geoff Thomas himself to discuss the challenge and discuss our objectives. Both parties are extremely enthused about this and relish the opportunity to do something meaningful. As such we kindly ask you to donate what you can to this cause.
