What better way of spending October 3rd/4th than to complete a rigorous 50 mile hike across the rugged south Shropshire countryside. A route that spans 8000 feet of climbing over eight summits.

After a host of people stepped up to the fray- only a few eventually managed to make the application deadline.

Much has happened since.

And our aim as a team now has greater meaning as we set out to raise cash for the Stroke Association.

Our fund raising mission comes after team member Rebecca Taylor's mother, sadly suffered a stroke last month.

Rebecca has now stood down from the hike and has taken up more of a mentoring, cheerleading role from the sidelines.

And it will be with regret that we stand at the start line in depleted numbers.

A couple of team trophies are up for grabs, but I fear that might be slightly ambitious- but we will nevertheless push ourselves to exhaustion and complete the challenge in hand.
