My name is Shane O Callaghan and I am about to set off a a huge trip back home to Cork, having worked in Oz for the last few years. I aim to finish the trip before the end of 2014, here is a list of the countries I will be visiting,:

Australia
Indonesia
Singapore
Malaysia
Thailand
Cambodia
Vietnam
China
Kyrgyzstan
Uzbekistan
Turkmenistan
Iran
Turkey
Greece
Italy
Switzerland
France
UK
and finally home to Ireland, more importantly to Cork!

You might wonder, why I am doing this. Well, there are a few reasons behind my decision.

Satisfy my sense of adventure, ever since I was young I loved travelling, loved venturing into the world that had a little to a good deal of uncertainty.
I suppose really this is how I ended up here in Sydney, Australia after leaving UCC in Cork not over 3 and a bit years ago.

There is something about letting life unfold right in front of your eyes while traversing across continents to get home to be with the family and friends, loved ones, that have put up with my passion for travel over the years. How I would describe an adventure would be a series of moments where you have no idea what is going to happen next, while at the same time building up your character to deal with what is about to happen next.

I'm curious, very curious about other ways of life, other traditions. Who wouldn't be! I think this speaks for itself.

While I prepare for the trip, my brother and project manager extraordinaire will be looking after promotion, fundraising and other organisational tasks, please contact him if you'd like an interview or for more information:
