For those of you who know me, I never do anything by halves and for those of you who don't.... I am a busy mum of three, that enjoys my red wine and chocolate, perhaps a little too much!
So when I decided to take on a challenge, nothing appeared more difficult and unachievable than a 26.2 mile run through London - especially when you hate running!
I have decided to run the London Marathon in 2010 for the Children's Trust as my nephew has received care from Tadworth and I have seen the dedication and commitment provided. I hope to raise a minimum of £1,600 which I know will be wisely spent on more staff and will have a massive impact on the children who need fun in their difficult lives.
My son and eldest daughter have undergone significant surgical procedures - and my youngest will be operated on in 2010. I know how difficult it is to nurse a child who has been unwell, even when the prognosis is good. The emotional strain and physical demands are so draining - there are extreme highs and lows...with many tears.
The Children's Trust makes a significant difference for those children that live with severe disability as well as supporting the family. These children may have been born with their condition....some may have suffered as a result of a tragic accident. The Children's Trust ensures that these children have a chance of a childhood, despite the specialist care that they require.
I will complete this marathon despite not being built for running, loathing the cold weather (which is when most of my training will take place) and knowing that this is never going to be easy for me.
Please help me...Make even the smallest donation and know that with a tiny amount of your time and energy - you are responsible for changing a life.
In return for your financial support I will keep you updated on my progress leading up to the race and will provide photos throughout. I would love you to join me on the day and yell at me from any point along the route.

With just 7 weeks to go - its all getting really close now....I am on a 12 minute mile, and training 5 out of 7 days. On Sunday I went for a nice 10 mile route - to B&Q, where my support vehicle met me! Libby and Phil were pleased I'd made it thru the pot holes! What is even more amazing, he did not even moan about not being able to go into the store!!! So if I can sustain that 12 minute mile pace - it will be a decent enough time....but am wondering about the toilets?!? Strange I know but these things are relevant to a girl! Fundraising is hard work - I am more worried about my target than I am about the physical challenge ahead of me!
