LOROS the adult hospice for Leicestershire and Rutland cares for 2250 patients each year. There is no charge for any of the services offered. Our annual running costs are £7.2 million.
LOROS has 31 inpatient beds, 8 of which are in a single bedded room and the remainder are in shared bays. After discussions and requests from our patients we have decided to add 11 single bedded rooms to the existing 8 and lowering the amount of beds on a shared bay basis. We will not increase the overall number of beds as we will be unable to sustain the fundraising.
The cost of this extension is £2 million of which we have raised £1.34 million - we still need to raise over £685,000 to pay off the extension which is due to be completed by August 2009. PLEASE HELP.
