We love meat. We cannot stress this enough. If they made a meat flavoured ice cream or alcoholic beverage, we would never eat/drink anything non-meaty again.
As we are constantly seeking to improve ourselves for the sake of humanity, we have decided to go vegetarian for a week. We are only going to eat the food in hall, and you know how uninspired the Regent's vegetarian options are. To complete this no meat feat in the best possible way, in addition to only eating vegetarian hall food we are going to be avoiding all kinds of food that could possibly be considered fun. So that means no chocolate, no ice cream, etc, for us. If we need to snack between meals cos all we had for lunch was soup, we will be having fruit and fruit only.
We wanted to raise money by doing this, and give it to last term's charity, Africa Now (since we didn't choose a new charity at the last epic JCR meeting). For those of you who are impressed with our will power and courage (I know, it's great being us), please sponsor us. For those of you who are actually vegetarian and who are greatly underwhelmed by this no meat feat, sponsor us anyway because of our love of meat (which might verge on obsession) and because, after all, it is for charity.
Also, we've been looking at the differences between the vegetarian and the main meals, and I'm sure you've all realised it is a bit ridiculous. We will be writing some sort of report at the end of the week for the food committee to present to the kitchen. This report will probably either ask the kitchen to raise the quality of the vegetarian food, or that the price of the vegetarian meals be reduced.
Once again, remember that this is for charity!
