Hi everyone
I would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who attended my BBQ & karaoke party on the 4th July 2009.
The new Breast Unit has received £1200 and the rest has been donated on here for Cancer Research Wales. Without all this continuous research, there would be far more people suffering that's for sure. It really is amazing what they can do for people these days where cancer is involved, hopefully one day there will be a complete cure for all types of cancers.
Anyway, I really would like to thank everyone who has donated either at the party or on this website and in person when I have seen you at the race meetings, it really is good to know that there are such kind people out there who support such good causes. I will be having some more events as and when I am feeling up to them, next one I am planning is either a horse (wooden ones) or mouse (real mice!) racing night in the hall in Meidrim, no bar just bring your own bottle and come along and enjoy the fun, I am hoping to fit it in the new year. Am also going to do a sponsored ride with my horesy friends inthe Spring. Will let everyone know the date through this website, emails & Facebook - so keep your eyes peeled for another good night out :-)
29/10/09 - I have now completed my 6 treatments of chemotherapy and am starting the radiotherapy on 7th December which will last for 5 weeks, so hopefully by the middle of January all the main treatments will be done and I can start planning my life next year - how lucky I am to be able to sit here and write that, thankfully I am one of the lucky ones who is getting a 2nd chance at life. Hair is beginning to grow back slowly, thank god for the purple wig at least it's kept me cheery :-) and although it has not been a pleasant experience having the chemo treatment, I have been one of the lucky ones and have managed to carry on going to work as well as having raced the car a few times and also am now back in the saddle on my favourite friend of all time - my horse Liah, who has really kept me going through all this, also managed to complete a 10 mile ride for the Welsh Air Ambulance 2 weeks ago, so I can't really grumble at all :-)
Once again I would like to say a big thank you for visiting my fundraising page and giving so generously - very very much appreciated. You never know what is round the corner, life is very unpredicatable, make the most of each day!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research Wales gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please donate to this worthy cause, you never know when it could happen to you or someone in the family or your friends.
