The next target is £5000! This could support a researcher for one year with the chemicals and equipment they need to further understand the causes of dementia so that bette treatments can be developed and search for a cure can continue. 

 

With the money raised so far, £2126.11, can now support over 10,000 families with vital advice on how to talk to children about dementia with the Society's award-winning "Talking to children about your illness" booklet.

 

With the money raised from Barry's secret forfeit and his and Amy's bike ride, they have managed to raise a whooping.....wait for it....£1232.59.....WOW!! Thank you guys, hope your lets don't hurt too much!!

Did some training on the 6th September.......Bristol Half Marathon!! Came 9980, out of over 27000 people, in 02:33:47!!!!! Boy did my legs hurt, and my right butt cheek!!! : )

 

Next event, 4,5 & 6th September, is fancy dress at work (WHSmith Galleries Bristol)......look out for Banana Man, Army girl, Cheerleader, one or two pirates! I'll take photos!  Raised £190.14  Thank you!!!

5th August 2009: Held a non-uniformday at work 31st 1st 2nd and raised a whoopping £95!  YEAH nice one guys!!

 

Latest update 15th July 2009: in training for this event I took part in the 3 Peak Challenge on the 10th/11th July 2009, unforntunatly my knees gave up after successfuly climbing Ben Nevis and Scarfell Pike, but they are on the mend and I am building them up ready for the Bristol Half in September!!

£104 allows callers from anywhere in the UK to call the Alzheimer's Society Dementia Helpline each week at their local rate.

With the £202.79 raised so far, we are £5.21 away from two of these!!

Hi,

My name is Louise Towler. I am 27 years old and always up for a new challenge.  I am about to undertake the BIGGEST challenge of my life so far!!

I am aiming to raise ONE MILLION POUNDS for the Alzheimer's Society by taking part in the Inca Trail Challenge.  I Believe this is achievable, and with your support there is no end to the possibilities!!!!!

The trail begins on the 8th May 2010 and finishes on the 17th May 2010.

In training for this event, I am climbing mountains in Wales, doing the 3 Peak Challenge (Outward Bound Trust), running the Bristol Half Marathon (Above and Beyond Charities Bristol), and much more!

MY PLAN:

::I am writting letters to Terry Pratchet asking for his time and asking for a minimum £1 donation to have books signed by him (not confirmed, but watch this space!)

::I am doing a forfeit at work, silence for a day seems to be winning!!

::I am holding a bingo night

::Having cake sales - Thank you Becky!!

::And everything else I can think off ---- suggestions are wellcome
