Update - 27th August 2009 - WE DID IT!!!! Well four days later and my legs are still working.. feet aren't too happy with the blisters but apart from that I made it! It was a fantastic experience with some great people and great team of guides. I have a complete mixture of feelings but I am mostly proud that I managed to complete it.

Thanks sooo much again for all the donations and support, as a team of 9 we have raised over £10,000 for Endometriosis UK and the charity and myself are truly greatful for this.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

A lot of you will be saying is she really going to walk that far.. well yes after suffering myself with Endometriosis over the past 11 years, I have decided its time I give back to a great charity that has certainly helped me over the years to come to terms with this horrible condition. The last 6 years have brought me 5 operations and numerous treatments along with also being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have just finished 11 months of treatment that I feel has left me at my healthiest since being diagnosed. Therefore its time for a challenge!

And that challenge is..

The Three Peaks Challenge.. Participants will scale the highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland. All this while surviving on little sleep and long hours on the road. However it is made well worth it as they reach the summit of Ben Nevis, the final peak and Britain's highest mountain. In total the group will scale over 11,000ft of mountain in two days, achieving the challenge within the target of 36-hours. Most walkers take three days to complete this challenge, so to complete it in 36-hours is a huge accomplishment. For many this is a once in a lifetime experience and one to be immensely proud of.

Sadly, endometriosis affects a lot of women - it's as common as diabetes and yet many people have never heard of it. Latest statistics show that it takes an average of 11 years to diagnose (surgery being the only reliable way of diagnosing it), leads to an average sickness absence of over 65 days a year and costs the UK economy approximately £2bn per annum. It is little understood and rarely talked about, with some very personal symptoms, so it can be extremely isolating for women - it can affect many aspects of a woman's life including her relationships, ability to work and fertility.

Women with endometriosis deserve a much better deal. Endometriosis UK gives women much needed support and information, as well as giving us an important national voice. Please help us to fight for a better deal and sponsor me now! You can make a difference..

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Endometriosis UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks for any donations that you can give.

Update - 21st July 2009 - Only 4 and half weeks to go until we set off :-), there are now 10 of us that will be completing the challenge for Endo UK and I have been training over the last number weeks.. on 8th/9th August I will be walking Scafell Pike with a couple of the ladies from the team so at least I would have completed one of the peaks already! I just wanted to say a huge thank you so far to everyone who has donated and a special thank you to my company for donating a vast amount to the charity on my behalf! I have reached my target of £1000 and gone way over so I will now up it to try and raise £2000 instead! So please please donate what you can as this is going to a truely great charity... Thanking you xxxx
