Story

2010

Having completed the Sahara Race in 2008, i have deceided to take on the 4 Desert Challenge in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. I am attempting to become the first woman to complete the challenge in one calendar year, and i'm probably about to find out why it hasn't been done before!!

The Challenge: The 4 Deserts is a series of seven-day, 250-kilometer (155 mile) self-supported races across the largest and most forbidding deserts on Earth, carrying all of our own equipment, food and clothes (weighing about 20 lbs).

They are:

Atacama Crossing, Chile - 7th March (completed)

Gobi Race, China - 27th June (completed)

Sahara Race, Egypt - 3rd October (completed)

The Last Desert, Antartica - 17th November (completed)

Why: Unfortunately, 1 in 3 people in their lives will be affected by Cancer one way or another. Tragically, Daddy lost his short battle with this horrendous disease in August 2007 and i'm doing this challenge in his memory.
