My story
My dearest friends, family and any babe who has taken the time to visit the page and donate,
As you may well know (due to the constant whinging and whining that you have been subjected to over the last couple of months) I am running the Bath Half Marathon on the 11th March.
Having been coerced into running it (thank you Georgie Middleditch) I am actually rather excited about it, and even more excited to be supporting such a great charity.
Africa may seem a rather distant problem, and you may well have many of your own charities closer to home that you support. However it would be amazing if you wanted to do something different today and take time to read up on the fantastic work this great charity does. It would be eveeeeeen better if you decided you wanted to donate the little you have to people who have even less.
Even a tiny donation means a child in Africa could be one step closer to fulfilling a dream that is just a right of passage for us - like going to Uni. Whilst we complain about the stresses and dreariness of University life there are people out there who, although desperate to go, will never have the same opportunity.
As I know you are aware - we are incredibly lucky - and if you feel you would like to send a bit of luck to someone in Africa, who is perhaps less so, then that would be ace.
I also promise to minimise the whining and to keep you updated on my progress (slow and steady wins the race being my mantra...I ain't no Linford Christie...remember that!)
So, yeah, thanks for reading this and I really hope you'll be able to spare a few pennies. As I keep telling my very tired legs - IT'S WORTH IT!
