I am currently fundraising for a three month volunteering trip to Andhra Pradesh in . I will be going with the charity VESL: Volunteers for Educational Support and Learning, who send volunteers to live and work in schools in small communities in , and .Whilst out in I will be helping local NGOs and educational charities working in rural village communities as well as teaching English in local schools and children's homes.
Education is at the heart of community development and VESL are committed to the educational needs and goals of the communities they work with. Having met the founders of the charity I am convinced I will be partaking in a volunteer project which will contribute greatly to community development.
In order to take part in this project I need to raise a £1000 contribution to VESL to cover administration, accommodation and food. I will be personally covering the other costs.
Over the next few months I will be fundraising like mad, with various different activities, so keep posted.
