For My Brother!!
On the 23rd August I am doing a sky-dive at Cirencester, inSouth Cerney. I will be falling from a plane, (attached to someone!) at around 12 to 13 thousand feet. It sounds scary I know but I’m doing it for is for an extremely good cause which is very important to me.
All the money raised will be going to the Chris Jones Riders Fund - www.cjnine.com. This charity was set up after my brother, (Christopher Jones) got killed atCadwellParkin 2005. The charity raises money, which then provides medical equipment for the British Superbikes Championship. So far the charity have purchased a mobile x-ray machine, an ice machine, they provide three physios at every British Superbike meeting, they provided an Air Ambulance at Cadwell Park in 2008 and will be doing again in 2009. This year they have also purchased air fencing for the BSB events.
My brother and I were like best friends, and I miss him more and more each day, and sometimes still can’t even believe he has gone. I would do anything to get him back. I have decided to do this sky-dive to raise money for the charity, but also because Christopher and I used to joke about it, and I can imagine him saying now "You won’t do it Lucy!"
When I’m about to jump out of the plane, if I think for one moment that I can’t do it, I will just think about everything my brother achieved, and his smiling cheeky face and this will give me the incentive to carry on!
