My story

As most of you know, My Lovely Mum died in May 1999 after a 2 year brave battle against Bowel Cancer.  I was very fortunate to have her in my life for 20 years. She was an amazing woman and I'm running the London Marathon next year in her memory.

I would be sincerely grateful for any donations you could make to this worthwhile charity. The Macmillan Nursing Team based at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, Devon, UK supported us every step of the way through my mum's courageous battle. They offered valuable advice, counselling and nursing care. It was my mum's wish to stay at home until she died and with the help of Team Macmillan this was possible - without them Myself, Dad Richard and Sister Kate would not have coped.

 I will always be eternally grateful to the Macmillan team and hope that this is my way of giving something back. It also inspired me to change careers and become a paediatric nurse, so now I see both sides of the important work they do.
