I am currently pounding the mean streets of Huddersfield in training for the British 10K in London on July 6th. Despite the dodgy weather I am quite enjoying it!
I am supporting research into the treatment of Pancreatic Cancer. My Mum died of it in 2005. She spent over 30 years screening people for cervical cancer and was so good at it that she worked until she was 70! She helped to save many lives over the years. Within a year of her retirement she was diagnosed with cancer herself. Unfortunately, there was no lifesaving treatment available for her.
Pancreatic Cancer is hard to treat and not very fashionable, despite the fact that 7000 people in Britain are killed by it each year. Most sufferers are dead within a year or so from the time of diagnosis. I want to help change that.
