Story

Linlithgow Young People's Project, St.John's Evangelical Church & St.Michael's Parish Church are joining forces to create a slum village in the Vennel area of Linlithgow.

Slum Survivor is a challenge to spend a few days the way a billion spend a lifetime. This nationwide event has been set up by Tearfund and Soul Survivor to raise awareness of the last, the least and the lost of this world.

The idea is that for a short time we choose to make the reality of the worlds poor our reality, raising money for change and being changed in the process.

The event will take place from Friday 2nd-Sun 4th November 07, with around 30 young people and their leaders.

Participants will be sponsored to live in slum for the weekend - building and living in a temporary shelter, eating a limited diet of lentils, collecting water and washing from a communal bucket and facing tough choices and challenges.

The money raised will go to the work of Soul Action partner projects working in poor communities throughout the world.

Please help us to reach our funraising target of £500. Thank you!!
