Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to tackle my first half marathon and have only 17 weeks to prepare for it. As most of you are aware I have had two babies in the last two years and Huey is only 9 weeks old therefore I think it is going to make for an interesting few months. However the cause, as highlighted below, will  provide motivation when the inevitable doubts kick in.

I am fundraising for the cancer charity ‘GIST Support UK’. Many of you will never have heard of a ‘GIST’ (a gastrointestinal stromal tumour) and neither had I until my brother-in-law, Leon Callon, age just 35, was diagnosed with a ‘sizeable’ GIST in October 2016.

A number of family and friends are participating in various marathons and challenges on or around this date and any donation will be gratefully received.

The reason I'm supporting this charity is to raise awareness of this very rare (especially in Leon's age group) type of tumour.
