My story

As an ex regular RE and aged 61 at time of mini exped, I will be competing in the 100Km Sahara Challenge in support of Help for Heroes Challenge 2009.

I really need your support, to compete this task.  I am paying my own way + Jabs+ Travel Insurance + kit.  This amounts to over £300. I am also out training every day trying to get this old body into some shape resembling  fitness.   All I ask is for you to remember the sacrifices our troops make in the cause of their duty. My target is  £2500.  Not much when you consider what the wounded have to cope with on their return.

No more will they be an active part of their old unit.  No longer able to do what they joined up for.

"The shrapnel struck without a sound, I felt no pain.  My legs turned to jelly and I fell to the ground.  My gun to aim I raise but fail, My body once fit now feels frail.  A numbness spreads slowly from feet to legs to arms.  I try to stop it but to no avail.

But now in Blighty four months on, an arm and a leg long since gone.  Plastic Fibre and alloy limbs  folks look and tut  'What a sin, a lad of eighteen years and one, so much to give so much he's done' ".

If you would like to support me with your firms logo on my Sweatshirt/Polo shirt, please contact me on 07833928986.

I have until July 1st to raise the initial installment of £1000. From the 1st July until Nov 1st  I have to raise £750. From Nov 1st to February 1st  I have to raise the rest.

Please support our injured loyal servicemen and women who all volunteered to serve our country and paid the price for their loyalty and bravery with their injuries.
