The Maddison Bignall Trust together with me&dee, run a programme together with it’s objective being to create ‘me time’ for young carers.
Me & Dee and Maddison Makes 3 !
· The need identified for young carers in this instance, would be to offer support and to provide situations whereby they would be alleviated from their caring responsibility through three mediums.
1. Short term: expenditure up to £100, i.e. mobile phones to keep in contact with school friends, bedroom makeover, cinema, theatre/social group activities, shopping vouchers (for clothes, music etc.)
2. Medium term: weekend breaks, opportunities in social situations of making friends, computer and internet access, school holidays etc.3. Long term: this to be a long term facility held by the charities to provide longer holidays, more frequent holidays and repetitive holidays over pro longed periods of time and to be the form of a permanent building such as a static caravan or dream house.
