My story

 

Here we go again! After braving the snowstorms of Iceland I am sticking a little bit closer to home and doing the 65 mile St Cuthbert's Way Walk on behalf of Cystic Fibrosis. The walk from Melrose to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) follows in the footsteps of St Cuthbert - which is very appropriate as Scotmid was 'born' 150 years ago in the guise of St Cuthbert's Co-operative.

So not only am I taking the opportunity to raise money on behalf of Cystic Fibrosis - an often overlooked and misunderstood condition - I am also taking the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of St Cuthbert and reflect on the beginnings of Scotmid 150 years ago. The walk starts on July 9th and we will be walking through some glorious scenery on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of July before leaving Lindisfarne on July 14.
