I ran my first marathon in New York in 2008, and managed to acheive a qualifying time for this years London Marathon. The day after the marathon in New York I found out that we'd lost my Nan just two days before the marathon. I promised then to run the 2010 London marathon in her memory. But also want to put the place to good use, and after my last trip to Monkey World I decided it would be most fitting to run for the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund.

Full of admiration for the work done at Monkey World we have decided to get married at the park this June and the new contact with the park has reinforced my views of how worthwhile the fund is and what a wonderful thing Jim started there. So please, help me to help Alison and the team continue this work as I run in my Nan and Jim's memory.

PS - please don't expect me to run that fast again! All I can promise is I will beat the knee injury that's hindered my training and finish the marathon - with all the stubborness that I inherited from my Nan :-)
