My story

 

WAYHAY!!!!!

I made it, in one piece, battered and sore, aching and tired....but alive and very proud of all my colleagues, and myself.

Consecutive days of 72 miles, 77 miles, 92 miles, and 23 miles takes it out of you!

Several weeks ago the chairman of Huddersfield Town Football Club had a crazy idea....to cycle to the club's first away game of the upcoming season (wherever that may be when the fixtures were announced on 17th June) to raise funds for the Keep It Up campaign which supports Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Huddersfield Town's Academy.

I said, at the time, that as chairman of the club's supporters association, I would join him, and several others, on this arduous but worthwhile venture.

The fixture has now been announced.....Southend United......223 miles away!!! 


I'm still willing, if not very able, and consequently I have signed up to do it and I aim to raise as much money as possible. 

We will be setting off on Wednesday 5th August and will do between 55 & 77 miles per day so as to arrive at our destination, tired and no doubt saddle sore, on Saturday 8th August.
