The Herefordshire Nature Trust is one of the 47 Wildlife Trusts who protect local wildlife and wild places. The Trust owns and manages nature reserves, works with others including farmers and local communities to manage their land for wildlife and campaigns for better protection of the natural environment.

My story

Marek Mayer, late Editorial Director of ENDS, was a prominent figure on the UK's environmental scene for the last 30 years of his life. Chiefly, but not exclusively, through the monthly journal The ENDS Report, he analysed environmental policy-making and corporate initiatives so helping to improve the quality of decision-making in the UK.

Nearly 50 people including many children took part in a challenging 10-mile sponsored walk over the cliffs in East Sussex to raise money for Herefordshire Nature Trust which will be dedicating a nature reserve in Marek’s memory as part of a wider wetlands conservation project. It was hard work, which all agreed Marek would have approved of! As you can see below, their effort has already raised a significant amount of money with more sent directly to the Trust. Please help to get Herefordshire Nature Trust off to a flying start with its project and in the process create a lasting, living memorial to Marek.
