Hey Guys,
Thank you for taking the time to get this far… whether you are able to sponsor me financially or not, please read on to see my reasons why I feel committed to completing this challenge (and trust me it is definitely going to be a challenge!)
Why have I chosen to run?
I like to suffer… only joking, but the honest truth is that I really don’t know. I like a challenge… although I think this one may top the list of those most difficult to complete!
Why have I chosen to run for SCOPE?
This question is a lot easier to answer. SCOPE is a national UK charity that supports people with cerebral palsy, one of the most commonly diagnosed physical conditions in the UK. The condition often occurs around the time of birth when part of the brain fails to develop properly.
I first became interested in the charity after I heard news about their recent campaign “Time to Get Equal”. The campaign focuses on raising awareness of the problems and barriers faced by disabled people in their everyday lives.
It was then that I realised that I too had very little knowledge about the challenges individuals with a disability face everyday. By running for SCOPE I hope to raise important funds to help them continue their good work challenging each and every one of us to evaluate our own perceptions of people with disabilities.
On that note, please dig deep and sponsor me to complete this challenge, every donation however big or small is greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks,
Marie xxx
Ps. Fingers crossed I make the finish line!
