My story

Hi Guys!

As most of you are already aware, I will be running the London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April 2012 in memory of my wonderful brother John.

John battled with addiction for the majority of his adult life. He was openly an addict but this did not have any effect on what his friends and family thought of him.  Well admired and respected by all that new him, John was a kind, intelligent, generous and altogether the most amazing person despite being controlled by his illness. Sadly beaten by the battle last year, his memory will live on forever and as a thank you to the charity ‘Action on Addiction’ I will raise as much money as I can to help with the future of the charity.

Addiction is a terrible thing that takes over the lives of individuals, family and friends. As much as we all like to think that we can help on our own and stop it from destroying a loved ones life, sometimes external help is needed.

‘Action on Addiction’ is a charity that helps addicts and their families deal with the circumstances that addiction brings.  Not only do they offer counselling, treatment, education, advice and family support they also have residential programmes.

This amazing charity helped John, myself and my family with comfort, support and guidance that we could not of found on our own.

As a huge thank you to Action on Addiction for continuing their great work with others, I am trying to raise a very optimistic £1500 by running the 26.2 MILES of the London marathon.  To give you some idea of how far that is, it is from The BP garage in Calne to the other side of Cirencester!!!!

Training has commenced and I assure you that the A4 and the bypass don’t get much more interesting the more you run the circuit!

Please sponsor me whatever you can afford, as any money donated to this amazing charity will give me the will power to succeed and hit my minimum target of £1500!

PLEASE DONATE NOW!

Thank you so much!

Mark
