Story

I will be completing a London to Paris cycle ride over 3 days during the weekend of the 22nd May 2015. This is a distance of 348Km with 2,836m of hills over the distance. The route will leave London heading past Gatwick down to Newhaven where we will stop overnight, the following day we will get the ferry to Dieppe and then continue onwards to Paris.

I will be completing this challenge for Lewis Tupper a little boy I have know since before he was born who very much deserves our support Here is a little bit of information about him;

Lewis is 6 years old and has been diagnosed with Dystonic Cerebal Palsy, Periventricular Leukomalacia, Epilepsy, Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease, Pancreatic Agenesis, Myopic Astigmatism, Laryngomalacia and major gut issues.

He is non-verbal, non-mobile and fed by a Gastro-jejunostomy (into his small bowel).

He is 100% dependant on adults moving, changing and communicating for him.

Last year he spent 8 months in hospital (23 Dec 13 - Aug 14) with intestinal failure. He had numerous operations during this admission including having a hickman line inserted to provide access to veins for IV treatment.

He is a very very happy young man. Aways laughs and smiles at those around him, He is very sociable and loves his big brother Adam. He loves Chuggington, Toy Story, Mike the Knight and Shaun the Sheep.

His parents are currently waiting on quotes to carry out needed adaptations to their home. Currently Lewis is given bed baths due to having no way to get him into the bathroom. They have had a hoist fitted in his bedroom but need to have an extension built to give Lewis a wet room which will enable them to shower him safely. They will be given some money by the DfG to cover most of the adaptations but sadly this will not cover the costs of some of the larger items like the hoists in his bedroom and bathroom, his specialist shower stretcher, his bathroom equipment, external ramp to the back garden.

On top of this Lewis needs funds for the future to cover items likes a seat for home as well as any other specialist equipment he may need in the coming years.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, making a donation no matter how small will mean a lot both to me but also to Lewis and his family so we would like to thank you for you help.
