Thanks to getting through to the Asics 26.2 competition I have the opportunity to run more races this year sponsored by them so here goes all being well firstly the Wilmslow Half Marathon in March and maybe Coniston 14 in the Lake District.
Edinburgh Marathon 26.2 miles on May 27th. Greg has signed up to keep me company for this one along with Lal, Molly and Jane doing the Half Marathon the same day.
Great Longstone Fell Race first Friday in September.
Great North Half Marathon in September.

My training record is here if you want to spy on me, I put the mileage I do and how I feel on here including the weather and where I run.

2011
Well I did the Great North Run (the biggest Half Marathon in the world,) again for the second time 13.1 miles on the 18th of September. What a great run, a real up and down course but hung on in there for a one hour and 50 minutes finish which was better than last year by 10 mins and only 26 seconds away from a pb for the Half Marathon distance for me. Quite warm until the last mile when it rained which was very welcome. Can you spot me in one of the pictures with the Red Arrows from last years GNR? Blue Bowel Cancer, light blue shirt not quite going as fast as the Red Arrows!! Very brave widow of the Red Arrows pilot who died started the race along with Mo Farrar. Did the Great Longstone Fell Race too the first Friday in the month, lovely sunny evening with great views on the EDGE.
2010
Birmingham Half Marathon on the 24th of October 2010 was done in 1.49 mins.49secs(on a cold sunny day) this was the highlight of the year along with the 30th London Marathon 2010. The London Marathon on April 25th 2010. What a brilliant day, the crowd support was superb, the music and encouragement all the way round was unbelievable. At the start it was raining and then as we set off the cloud cleared and it was fair and a bit warm at times. I ran with Darth Vader, a Hulk in yellow (one for the ladies) and a guy in a pink dress, he got on the BBC so I listened in while he was being interviewed so I was on the highlights programme. The last four miles were tough but thanks to the cheers and the jelly babies I made it home in four hours and thirty five minutes. Thanks for your support once again. Love to go have gone a bit faster but thats for another day.............
We need to keep the money coming in to help the good people at Bowel & Cancer Research who do great work for people suffering with Bowel Cancer and also Crohn's disease. I have several friends and relatives who have suffered and are suffering at the moment with this and research is badly required to help reduce the suffering caused by these chronic illnesses. Keep fighting John, Colin and many others.
Please donate now, just a pound or whatever you can spare it will be appreciated very much. Thanks a million.

35,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year – it’s the 2nd biggest cancer killer. Thousands more will have to face life with a stoma as a result of surgery. We want more people to survive bowel cancer by investigating what initiates it and causes it to spread (metastasise) to produce better diagnostic techniques and therapies. Our research also covers other bowel diseases, such as Colitis and Crohn’s Disease and through pioneering surgical techniques we aim to enable sufferers to live free of a stoma.
