Having recently recovered from a laproscopic bilateral inguinal hernia repair (best not Google that), I thought I'd put my recovery to the test with one of the toughest half-marathons in this timezone*. The Connemara half in Ireland is a crazily hilly 13.1mile route around lakes and mountains. Ouch.
My chosen charity is a very worthy one that I support as a donator and volunteer. The Maytree Respite Centre is a house providing a supportive and calm environment for people on the verge of suicide - it's hard to find a charity that delivers on the statement 'it saves lives' in a more direct and immediate a way as Maytree. You can read more about it on the left below, and from the bottom of my heart - thank you for your support.
*excludes Sahara desert, Antarctica and many far tougher half-marathons.
NB. I'm covering all costs of the trip, so all of your money goes to charity. Ker-ching!
