About the charity
:
Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy
The Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy, formerly known as the Osteopathic Centre for Children, seeks to ensure that paediatric osteopathy - a gentle, efficient therapy - is established as the first recourse for parents and carers concerned for their child's health. We accomplish this by raising awareness of paediatric osteopathy, participating in research, training paediatric osteopaths and offering over 30,000 free treatments to babies, children and pregnant and post-partum women each year. We receive no Government funding, so are entirely reliant upon the generosity of the public to fund our services.

In October 2008 my wife and I are are taking part in an 11-day motorcycling adventure through the foothills of the Himalayas on a classic Royal Enfield Bullet. We're doing this to raise awareness for the Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy, and also to generate sponsorship to help fund its charitable activities. I have been working with the Foundation for over a decade and, as they receive no Government funding, it is vital that we raise as much money for them as possible.
The Foundation offers over 30,000 -free- osteopathic treatments to babies, children, pregnant women and new mothers every year. It also runs two outreach projects at North Middlesex and Barnet General Hospitals, where Foundation osteopaths provide free treatment to very vulnerable babies on the neonatal intensive care units, and also provide treatments on the acute paediatric wards.
Please dig deep and sponsor us. We are paying for the cost of the trip ourselves, so every £ raised will go directly to the Foundation.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
