Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I'm doing the Sheffield Fun Run (linked to the half marathon) on Sunday 26 April 2009. I will be undertaking the 3K run in fancy dress...dressed as a cow! (Perhaps doing the actual half marathon would be less embarassing??? but its all for a good cause!)
SAFE@LAST provides vital services to children who are:
i) at risk of running away from where they usually call home - this could be due to abuse, relationship breakdown and many other reasons;
ii) at risk from where they are running to - for many children that run away, they don't have any plan and can easily be exploited or worse by individuals and groups that identify their vulnerability.
I'm conscious that in this current challenging financial climate not eveyone has as much spare cash as they did, but ironically SAFE@LAST services are needed even more.
Please come along and cheer me and fellow staff and volunteers that are also running, so children don't have to.
