My story

Thank you very much for visiting my fundraising page.

On the 20th July I completed the GR10 Coast to Coast (Atlantic to Mediterranean) Trail which I started on 1st June this summer, 2008.  This route follows the length of the Pyrenees on the French side.

The total distance is about 560 miles (900kms) and height gain 164,636 feet (49,714 metres). This is about five times the height of Mt. Everest or the equivalent of climbing Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain, every day for the 50 days of my walk.

I succeeded in completing this walk in 50 days and hoped to raise £50,000 for the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk. Although I have not yet reached this target figure the amount raised has been substantial and donations are still being made.

I am dedicating this walk to the late Dr. John LeVay who was Oncologist at Ipswich Hospital and founder of Cancer Campaign in Suffolk. We have known John and his family for many years and I aim to raise substantial funds to support the outstanding work carried out by this Charity.

I sincerely hope you may feel able to support my efforts. Please have a look at the Cancer Campaign website at: www.cancercampaigninsuffolk.co.uk

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Campaign In Suffolk will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks indeed for your support.
