Caudwell Children transforms the lives of disabled and neurodivergent children and their families across the UK with Family Support, Autism Services, Mobility Equipment Funding, and more! We champion every child's potential by listening, understanding, and delivering personalised support.

Story

After having to pull out of the London with injury, during training for the Amsterdam I ruptured my knee capsule and more recently suffered a lateral meniscus lesion (torn cartilage). I have finally admitted defeat on the marathon front this year but 3 weeks ago decided that i would do a 100 mile bike ride instead, I'm riding a mountain bike with conventional peddles as cleats put too much pressure through my knee. I'm riding this weekend and surprisingly the weather is forecasted for strong wind and rain but I'm aiming to complete under 8 hours.

With me doubling the raised amount we are still going to be able to raise over £10k for Mattai.

If anyone would like refunding their sponsorship money, i totally understand and will personally refund, please email me on mstredwick@gmail.com.

Mattai is a four year old with Cerebral Palsy and has started conductive education which through the process of repetition trains the brain to understand simple tasks and give parents hope of seeing a smile, eye contact or even sound. Since beginning his conductive education, Mattia has started to smile and make sounds for the very first time.

Each term of therapy costs £5000, which is where you come in. Please help me help Mattai, whatever is raised I will match personally to double the amount raised. Caudwell Children is one of the few charities where 100% of donated funds goes direct to the cause and not spent on admin. John Caudwell personally covers all admin and management costs himself.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Caudwell Charitable Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
