One year older, but clearly no wiser I have decided to put myself through the Great Manchester Run again.
As you know I am not a natural athlete but having married a runner I thought I should at least try and keep up. That said - a slow return to training after our honeymoon followed by the worst winter in memory have contributed to less than thorough preparation.
However, I have a great motivation for toughing it out and getting round. Once again we’re running to raise funds for the Hallé and this year is the Hallé’s 150th Anniversary. I figure that if this fine Manchester institution can still be running after 150 years I can keep going for 10,000 metres.
I will have the benefit of Bekah pacing me - however in recent weeks she has begun to terrify me with suggestions of a time target so just finishing might not be sufficient.
So - in recognition of this particular challenge - I’d be really grateful if you could dig deep and support Rebekah and I - and the Hallé - by sponsoring us.
The money we raise will support the Hallé’s amazing Youth, Education and Community work. - taking music to people that might not usually have the opportunity to access it.
Last year alone we worked with more than 20,000 young people and we’d like to do more but in order to do so we need support.
