My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

JUNE 6th & 7th - during Erskine week, we climbed Mount Snowdon on the Saturday and then drove the 420 miles to climb Ben Nevis on the Sunday!

I was discharged from the Armed Forces in December 1998 after suffering a spinal injury whilst commanding a Warrior in Germany in February 1996.  Throughout my rehabilitation I was left either using a wheelchair or crutches to get around and still have a walking stick to this day, just in case...  What a shock to the system, having been very fit all through my life until, at the age of 24, my accident robbed me of my mobility and a career that I loved and still miss every day.  That said, I have never given in to my mobility issues and have been very successful when racing my Siberian Huskies, having won 3 Scottish Championships since 2004.

The Servicemen and women that Erskine are caring for have lost so much more than me and I hope that you will help me in raising funds to improve their quality of day to day living. Money that could help change their entire outlook on life.  Each year, more and more Servicemen are returning from active service with very serious injuries. With men as young as 23 being cared for by Erskine it proves this is a very current issue and one that needs your support.

Please do your bit for our Armed Forces and ensure they are looked after when they come home injured.  These brave soldiers could all too easily be your Brother or Son but regardless of who they are, they desperately need your help now!

The money that I hope we can raise together could pay for essential medical treatment or furnish a bedroom to provide the home comforts for someone in residential care, comforts that we all take forgranted.  When you are thinking about donating please remember that there are many people far less fortunate than us...

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Erskine gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please; please sponsor me now!
