My story

OK, OK, OK.  Last year I said that would be my final marathon, but I got a place through the ballot for this year and it seems rude not to run.  Besides, why would I have wanted to miss all that running in the rain, wind, cold and snow?  And all those nights out involving beer and wine...

Anyway, I've done all the training, with my last five long runs totalling just under 100 miles.  Sunday 26th April sees me take on my London fourth marathon, assuming I don't accidentally go out for birthday drinks on Saturday.

This year I'm supporting Addison's Disease Self Help Group as one of my close family has Addison's.  Addison's Disease is a rare condition brought on by failure of the adrenal glands, and keeping the disease under control requires life-long steroid replacement treatment.  There are about 8000 cases in the UK.

Addisons Disease Self Help Group is a small group of people working voluntarily to provide help and support to people affected.  They raise awareness of the condition, keep members abreast of medical advances and support a limited number of  medical projects.
