Okay,
My knee is still stuffed and i haven't run more than 10km in over a year. I had surgery done in December and numerous physio sessions since but to no avail.
I already feel that i let the charity down last year, and i can't let them down again. So i'm doing this thing run, walk or crawl.
Please help out and sponsor me.
Cheers
M
Current Update: Unfortunately i've withdrawn from this years marathon. I've got pretty bad tendonitis in my left knee. I'm currently getting phsyio on it and also seeing a surgeon in 2 weeks time. Running the a marathon is something that i really want to acheive so my aim now is to be fit and ready for next year.
Thank you for those of you who have donated so far. Your money has already gone directly to the charity.
I will keep this updated throughout the year and advise of my progress.
Thanks
Marty
As most of you will know, i'm far from being any sort of runner. Only last week i ran 10kms for the 1st time in my life + nearly had a heart attack. The odds for me finishing this monsterous 42kms / 26.2 miles run are stacked totally against me (drink a lot, smoke, overweight etc etc ) plus the fact i'm 6 weeks behind the recommended 1st time marathon runners training schedule isn't helping the cause either. That is why my aim is to just finish the race in under 6 hours !
So i need as much inspiration as possible, and hopefully your donations and support should help me get there.
I've chosen to raise money for Brace, which is an Alzheimer's research foundation and an illness which is close to my family. http://www.alzheimers-brace.org/
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: BRACE will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
Cheers
Marty
P.S - If any of you are wondering about the photo - it was taken after running with the bulls last year, which is where i'm getting some inspiration for this run too.
