My story

We have over 450 children enrolled at Mashimoni Primary School, in the Kibera slum in Nairobi. These children are all Kibera residents, and come from poverty-stricken backgrounds. The school is supported by The Balcraig Foundation and Kenya Children's Home (see justgiving.com/kch for more information and www.kenyachildrenshome.org.uk ).

Mashimoni School not only provides these children with a quality education but also provides two nutritious meals a day. the feeding program even continues during the school holidays, along with holiday clubs and extra lessons.

We have established a Mashimoni Sponsorship Scheme. It costs just £100 a year to sponsor a Mashimoni pupil. This money covers all the costs for education, two meals a day, stationery and resources, and school uniform.

See justgiving.com/socksandshoes for another of our Mashimoni fundraising pages.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support Mashimoni : the Balcraig Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
