My story
How to make a £16 donation worth up to £200 of conservation work
In 1996 a tax on landfill waste was introduced to encourage recycling and waste reduction.
The unique part about this tax was that money raised could be used for environmental projects rather than simply disappearing into the Treasury.
As a result many Butterfly Conservation projects have benefited from the initiative.
Once again a number of landfill site operators are backing a scheme to donate £10 of their Landfill Tax levies for every £1 that you are able to give towards our conservation work.
This is the key to a conservation chest of funds needed to save our precious wildlife. With this in mind we launch our third Match Pot appeal this autumn.
By supporting Match Pot every 10p you donate will allow Butterfly Conservation to spend £1 on vital conservation work.
If you are able to apply Gift Aid to your donation we can also include this extra element. This means a donation of £16 to Match Pot is actually worth £200 to Butterfly Conservation. That is a fantastic return in these difficult financial times.
* The Match Pot appeal will be used to leverage further funding from the Landfill Communities Fund and other funders. It may be used towards a broad range of Butterfly Conservation’s activities.
