As you may well know, the Evelina Children's Hospital did a great job in caring for Marisa and my (Mat) son, Zak, in his final hours and did all they could to make him and us as comfortable as possible in an incredibly distressing time. They still provide Marisa and me with incredibly valuable support in coming to terms with our loss.
Over a beer (obviously), Ali persuaded me to take on the challenge of the Shakespeare half marathon. I then made him come along too!
We are running this both in honour and memory of Marisa and my beautiful boy Zak, but also to raise money for this fantastic cause. Any donation, no matter how small, could make a real difference to another child or family in the near future, ensuring they get the best possible care available.
I have never run this far before and having your support and the memory of Zak will spur me on (as will making sure Ali does not leave me behind!).
