Update: well, the job is done - I managed 4 hours, 25 minutes, 47 seconds. So very difficult and painful, but got there in the end. Thank you so much for everyone who has supported me so far, all the wonderful messages you all sent me, and particularly those who turned out on the day - you know who you are! I managed 4 hours, 25 minutes, 47 seconds. If you know anyone else who hasn't donated - please encourage them so to do; this page stays open for another 3 months. And to all those who have - Thank You so much, the total is way beyond my wildest dreams!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page - as you may be aware, my daughter Sophie has had allergies from an early age and my wife Caroline and I found it very hard to deal with the challenges this presented - in short, an anaphylactic reaction, following contact with a substance she is allergic to, could be fatal.

Sophie's wonderful doctor at the Cromwell Hospital, Helen Cox, suggested that we contact The Anaphylaxis Campaign for help and guidance. From that first communication with them, a weight was lifted from our shoulders - the experience, advice, information and food updates have become invaluable to us.

The Anaphylaxis Campaign is not a well known charity, but it helps an increasingly numerous amount of people countrywide, as more and more allergies are suffered. I know times are hard, but please dig deep and support this wonderful little charity, and my madness at attempting this silly marathon - I promise you that I'll nail it!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
