As the count down to London 2012 begins, on the 26^th October seven of Marie Curie Cancer Care’s finest athletes will commence their bid for greatness and glory as they build towards marathon Gold.  The champions elect in question are Vicky ‘Long Shot’ Ludlow; Lara 'The Lara' Carmona, Aldridge ‘Shins, huh.  What are they good for? absolutely nothing’ Fisher;  Jen ‘Confound the Critics’ Penfound; Cathy ‘The Only Actual Athlete’ Calow; Robin ‘The Boy Wonder’ Walters; and Iron Mike Ashton.

Team MC has had a foolproof training schedule building up towards the gruelling 10 mile run since the turn of the year, it’s just a shame that nobody thought to actually stick to it.  Nevertheless, these seven intrepid runners will brave the pavements of Portsmouth, overcome the constraint of total lack of fitness, shake off an injury list that Michael Owen would be proud of, and sprint our way to raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

So please dig deep and give generously.  All proceeds are going to a fantastic cause and at the same time you will be supporting  Team GB as we bid to become the heroes of 2012.
