On May 20th May 2010, Daniel, Chris, Mark and I will be embarking on a banger rally, destination Barcelona. (via Lyon and Nice.) The return route is yet to be decided!

We're really just doing the rally for fun, but if we've given you a smile, made you laugh or even pissed you off... show it by donating towards our chosen charity of The NSPCC.

Barcelona Bangers is an adventure with a difference, imagine driving from Calais, cross country to Lyon, through the Alps and parts of the hairpin ridden Monte Carlo Rally and down to the coast for a lap of the Monaco Grandprix track before heading to our hotel in Nice, on the final day we drive though Andorra and over the Pyrenees and past the beautiful Montserrat mountain and then on to Barcelona on the Costa Dorada, sounds fun! then try doing it in a car worth less than £200!!!!

Who are the NSPCC and what do they do?

The London Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children was founded in 1884.

It changed its name to The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) in 1889.

Its aim then was to protect children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse.

Today, the NSPCC is inspired by a belief that we can make a difference for all children – by standing up for their rights, by listening to them, by helping them when they need us and by making them safe.

Our vision is ending cruelty to children in the UK. We believe cruelty is preventable and that through having an inspirational vision we will achieve much greater success for children.

if you want to know more or can help in any way please visit www.nspcc.org.uk

So back to the Rally... 60 teams all attempting to reach Barcelona in Vehicles costing no more than £200

You would be surprised what you can and cant buy for this money... All costs will be coming out of our own pockets and if we make it to Barcelona - we scrap the car to pay for our flights home!!!

It could be spectacular, it could be a hitchhiking nightmare.... BUT its all a challenge and donations will go to a good cause.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Anthony Nolan Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

If you like the sound of it all, please sponsor us now! :)

Thank you all for looking here, Daniel, Chris, Mark,  I and the NSPCC appreciate it Greatly

Gavin
