Please give £10 or what you can towards this project . If we spread the word quickly and everyone gives a little, this urgently needed project could be up and running within days...

In this remote area there are many families who are landless and homeless as a result of the current conflict which is affecting many rural reas of Nepal. Many of these people have been displaced from their villages and are forced to work as labourers on the river bank in order to afford their daily food needs.Their children are not able to go to school and in most cases they must help their parents with the labouring work. Their main occupation is collecting sand and stone from the river to make aggregate.

This work in the river, combined with the lack of sanitation facilities or safe drinking water poses a major health risk. Water related diseases are prevalent in Nepal, particularly amongst children and diarrhoea is still the major cause of death of children under the age of five. These unnecessary deaths can be prevented with the correct treatment, and although the medicine itself is not expensive (only 15p per child or a packet or oral rehydration salts) these families cannot afford to go to the city to get the medicine or to visit a doctor if their child becomes unwell. The cost of seeing a doctor in Nepal is relatively expensive even for people earning an average wage, but for these poeple it is beyond their reach.

This project will oraginse a five day mobile health camp that will benefit more than 250 women and children by providing a health check and distributing free medicines. These families are already under extrordinary pressures in order to simply survive each day and they urgently need outside support. This project will help address some of their immediate health concerns. Please use the "Tell a Friend" link to let others know about this urgently needed project. Hopefully, the further we spread the word, the sooner the project can get started. If you would like to receive a copy of the project report once the project is completed, make sure that you supply your email address when you donate. About JustAid's Link with Just Giving... JustAid is a British Registered charity. Our own website (www.justaid.org.uk) is not quite up and running, but while we wait for it to be finished, there are a number of projects in need of urgent support. Therefore, we have joined with Just Giving who can provide a secure and efficient means for us to raise funds for these projects. Just Giving, the site you are currently on, will use a small percentage of your donation to manage the transaction of your donation. Please see the "Transaction Charges" below. Once your donation gets to JustAid, our commitment is to use every penny towards your chosen project and we are able to do this by funding our administration through separate sponsorship. If you would like to see the budget breakdown for this project including all materials and labour, please email info@justaid.org.uk who would be very happy to forward this to you.
