My story

Hello,

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I have chosen to run the Flora London Marathon to raise money for Bells Piece Cheshire Home in Farnham.

I decided to run for this particular charity having come across the manager at the home, Chris Fisher, through my job as a reporter at the Aldershot News and Mail. As a journalist I regularly speak to representatives from many different charities but I was immediately struck by Chris's enthusiam and dedication to Bells Piece and Leonard Cheshire from the first time I spoke to him.

I have never run a marathon before, in fact, I had never run more than a mile before I began training earlier this month but I determind to complete the event and raise money for a fantastic charity that does amazing work with disabled people in my local community.

Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leonard Cheshire Disability will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

Melanie
