Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Melanie Reid, a friend and a regular attendee of my Pilates & Step class, is a weekly columnist for The Times newspaper. She was severely injured in April 2010 in a horse riding accident breaking her neck and back. Despite her injuries she continues to write her weekly column, now named "Spinal Column", where writes of the physical and mental challenges she faces.
My aim is to organise various fitness challenges to raise money in support of Melanie via the charity ASPIRE (a charity supporting people with spinal injuries).
The first of our challenges is a 3 day diet & fitness retreat/bootcamp 21st - 23rd August 2010.
Melanie loved to keep fit and we attended a terrific seven day fitness retreat/bootcamp in January 2010 run by Apples & Pears. It was challenging and great fun! Melanie had such a positive impact on the people at the bootcamp that they wanted to raise money that Melanie and others like her would benefit from. Katie Duncan (owner of Apples and Pears) and I decided that we would organise a 3 day charity diet and fitness retreat/bootcamp. Katie has generously offered to donate all profit to charity.
For more information on this retreat or if you'd like to participate please go to the link below. Alternatively, if you would like to donate please do so now through justgiving!

Challenge 2
West Highland Way - September 2010
Melanie and I had planned to walk the West Highland Way at the end of May 2010 with another friend Anne. This wasn't to be. Anne and I have decided to 'power walk' the West Highland Way starting on the 4th September 2010 with some girlfriends to raise money in support of Melanie through ASPIRE. Donations welcome through justgiving!
More challenges to come ... ... watch this space!
