Tŷ Hafan helps life-limited children, young people and their families make the most of the time they have left together. Not only is Tŷ Hafan a home from home providing specialist palliative care, but it also offers a much needed source of strength, respite and support for the whole family. From diagnosis to bereavement and beyond it takes its support right into the heart of the family home. For Tŷ Hafan to offer this unique service completely free of charge to families in Wales, it has to raise over £2.5 million every year.

My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Now you have picked yourself up after falling off your chair laughing... yes it is true, I am going to be running this years London Marathon and I need you to get those wallets out and sponsor me because I aim to raise £2000 for a very special charity! The story behind my charity: Whilst at University a few years ago my dear friend Louis' brother Ieuan became very ill with a devastating illness and needed round the clock care. Ieuan tragically passed away in 2007. In the final months of Ieuan's life it was necessary for him to stay at Ty Hafan, a remarkable children's hospice in South Wales. Ty Hafan not only provided practical care for Ieuan but emotional support for the whole family. Ieuans' family have said that "everything and everyone involved in Ty Hafan made our most precious last two months and two days with our beautiful Ieuan possible". In order to provide this exceptional care, Ty Hafan need our help, so dig deep and please sponsor me because it's your support that will encourage me towards the finish line when my (notoriously bad) knees won't!!
