Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
In August 2008, Michael and Steve cycled (more than?) 600 km (614 km to be exact) from Warsaw to Vilnius, in memory of Michael's dad (Eddie) and to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care - part of their Bike the Baltic campaign.
Alongside, you can see us celebrating at the finish (champagne courtesy of the British Ambassador to Lithuania). It was a fantastic experience: good weather, gentle winds and helped along by a wonderful group of 45 cyclists and lots of cabbage. A big thank you to everyone who has supported us. There is still time to donate - we've now raised the target to £8000. This page is live until 31st October 2008.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thanks also to everyone who came to our Fundraising Ceildh on Saturday 14th June. I hope you all had a good time, learned some new steps and didn't embarrass your kids too much. Thanks again - and after costs, we have banked a total of £450 as a result. Thanks to all who came or donated in lieu - cheers.
Thanks to all the parishioners, organisers and helpers at St Margaret's RC Church, Loanhead who contributed so much to make the coffee morning such a great success. Particular thanks to Agnes Ferguson, Nora McNiff and Doris Gordon. And a huge thanks to Father John for all his encouragement and regular updates on our progress! A second coffee morning was also held at Chapel House Farm, Dalton, North Yorkshire. Thanks to all who came along and especially to Ann Ramsden for all her help and support.
As you can see above, we have broken through our initial target figure of £5000. It is a fantastic effort and thanks so much to all our donors who are supporting us.
We have set a new target now of £8000 - so here's hoping ... PS Billington is Erin's imaginary town.
