My story

 

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.


I am really privileged to have been chosen to be part of the team of a team of nine disabled and nine non-disabled adults climbing Mount Kilimanjaro over a 12 day period in July 2008. I have been buddied with Jamie Magee and we will make the climb together as a team.

I am in no doubt that this will be the biggest physical challenge I have ever faced in my life and to get to the summit, but with my determination and the support of a fantastic group of people I can’t wait to start.
 
Why Kilimanjaro?

Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world.

Who is leading the expedition?

Steven Ballantyne, Explorer and Expedition leader will personally lead the expedition on behalf of Enham and we will be supported by guide staff from Alpine Ascents, a highly recommended and experienced trekking company.

Why are we doing it?

Disability charity Enham needs to raise £1.2m for purpose built accommodation for residential trainees and we really want this climb to make a difference to that Appeal.  Many of the disabled adults on this expedition reside at Enham and really want to give something back to an organisation that has helped them to reshape their lives.
