Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
For some strange reason, running the New York marathon last year didn’t put me off the gruelling training needed to run the Chicago Marathon this year on October 12.
My chosen charity is The Alzheimer’s Research Trust.
I think it is very common these days to know somebody who is affected by this disease. There are over half a million people in the UK diagnosed with it and this figure is rising rapidly. However, the current UK research spend per patient amounts to a rather depressing figure of £11 per patient per year. There is currently no way of preventing the disease or curing it and that is why every donation, no matter what the size, is so important.
It is a really worthwhile cause that will keep me running to the end and, hopefully, it won’t be raining in Chicago!!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Research Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now
and support something that could change your lives for the better in the years to come.
Many thanks,
Mick
