Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
We have set this page up in memory of Mike Brown, a husband, father and grandfather who recently died from cancer. He spent his last few days being cared for by a wonderful team of people at St Mary's Hospice who made him comfortable and made the whole trauma easier to deal with for us all.
St Mary's Hospice is reliant on public donations to keep it going to enable it to support more families just like ours. I have listed below, from St Mary's Hospice Website how donations are used -:
£10
Aromatherapy oils for use in therapy and relaxation sessions
Latex gloves for doctors and nurses
£25
Materials for our day hospice art and craft groups
Alcohol hand cleansing rub for staff and visitors
£50
One day’s travelling costs for our team of community palliative care nurses
A day’s nutritious meals for our Day Hospice patients
£150
5 nurses uniforms
Physiotherapy sessions for inpatients
£250
The total daily cost of drugs, dressings and other medical supplies for all the patients being cared for in the Hospice
Clean bed linen for a week
£550
All of our services for an hour, giving care to our inpatients, Day Hospice patients and those being cared for at home, and support to their families.
£2,000
20 home care visits by a specialist nurse
4 patient bedside lockers
£5,000
A 10-day stay for an inpatient
Currently, we have raised over £400.00 from donations in lieu of flowers for dad's funeral. I feel that it would be fantastic if we could raise £5000.00 to enable one person a 10 day stay at the hospice. At the moment, that sounds like a huge amount to raise, in a way, yes it is, but if you could help us at all, that would be superb.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Birmingham St. Mary's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
